Potato Day Orders

Transition Loughborough is trying something new in 2015 – a Potato Day on 31st January!

We’re planning on having a stall on Loughborough Market at which we can sell seed potatoes to anyone in the town who might want to “grow their own”.  This has been done successfully by other Transition Town groups and is a great way to help get people growing food themselves in gardens and allotments.

On the stall there’ll be a limited selection of varieties to buy on the day, but you can pre-order now from a much wider range of varieties, as well as onions and garlic.  We’re in partnership with Transition Chesterfield who have done this for several year, and allows us to buy in larger bulk quantities from the suppliers and give people in Loughborough are really good price per potato tuber: 12p per seed potato for pre-orders, or 14p if you leave it to just buy from the stall on the day.

As well as potatoes we’ll also have a range of other vegetables including onion & shallot sets and bean seeds that can be ordered for collection on the potato day:

If you’d like to see the potato varieties on offer and then place an order, please download our order form.  You should print this out, complete it (along with any onion, shallot and bean options from the menu above) and then return it to us with payment before 6th December 2014.  Your order will be available to pick up at the Potato Day stall in Loughborough Market on 31st January 2015.
