Loughborough Energy Efficient Homes 17th & 18th May 2014

The Loughborough Energy Efficient Homes event is a chance for you to see energy efficiency improvements and renewable power generation systems that other home owners have installed in their own homes.  If you find the prospect of installing insulation daunting or are considering getting a solar system installed but want to talk to someone impartial who has already done it, this is the event for you!Bristol Green Doors - explaining the savings made

Home owners across Loughborough and the surrounding area are volunteering to open their homes to you so that you can see what they have had installed and discuss with them the pros and cons of what was done.  They’ll be able to tell you why they made the improvements, how they went about choosing suppliers and installers and what benefits they’ve had since the work was done.  Different homes will have different measures installed – every thing from simple draught excluding to large domestic solar power arrays.

If you’d like to see what homes are going to be opening (which we’ll be updating as we get more home owner’s agreements and details over the weeks leading up to the event), go to our special website at:

Note that some homes require you to book using our EventBrite ticketing system in order to ensure that numbers of visitors are manageable for the house holder and also so that all the visitors get a chance to ask questions and chat about what they have done to their homes.  Tickets are free, but we do require that you complete contact information so that we can get back to you if necessary.

Our Loughborough Energy Efficient Homes weekend is part of a larger scheme funded by the Government through the Centre for Sustainable Energy (CSE). Similar events are being run across the country, including in neighbouring areas of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire so you might want to look for open homes there as well!
