The 2016 Potato Day is nearly upon us! Friday 29th January will see a group of volunteers heading up to Chesterfield to sort, bag and collect the pre-orders that people have made, and then on Saturday 30th January we’ll have a stall in Loughborough Market to distribute them. We will also have some extra seed potato tubers for sale on the day at 14p per tuber, so if you missed out on pre-ordering or just want to try your hand at growing one or two plants, pop along to buy some. You can also chat to Transition Loughborough members who are involved in other aspects of the Food & Gardens Group such as the shared community allotment site we have.
Additionally this year we’ve been kindly allowed to have volunteers Gill, Sudha, Liz and AnnBritt serving coffee, tea, cakes and biscuits at Loughborough Baptist Church on Baxtergate (between Delice Deli and the Paper shop) between 10.00am and 12.00pm. This is just round the corner from where the Potato Day stall is likely to be located near Lloyds bank, so you can pick up some spuds and then head over for a warming cuppa and some cake!
We look forward to seeing lots of you on Saturday!
