Seed Swap this Saturday 10am to noon in Public Library

Just a quick reminder to all the gardeners in the town that Transition Loughborough’s Food & Gardens group will be holding their annual seed swap in Loughborough Public Library from 10am to noon on Saturday 7th February 2015 (ie this Saturday!).  We will be just one of the events going on in the library as it is National Library Day.

Bring along any excess or unwanted seeds to add to the swap pile, and then have a rummage to see what seeds you’d like to take home to grow.  We’ll have vegetables and ornamentals, and you can bring old packets, opened packets, freebie magazine cover packs and self saved seeds to swap.  So don’t throw those old packets in the bin – bring them along to swap!

We’ll also have some of our remaining seed potatoes from last weekend’s Potato Day available to purchase.  So if you missed out on pre-ordering and missed us again last weekend, we’re giving you a third chance!  Tubers will be 14p each, the same as last week.  We’ll have the same six varieties to choose from: two types of first earlies  (Arran Pilot and Pentland Javelin), two second earlies varieties (Charlotte and Kestrel) and two main croppers (Desiree and Picasso).
