Saturday 31st January sees Transition Loughborough hosting its first Potato Day stall in Loughborough market. Many people have put in pre-orders and these will be available for collection from the stall on the day. We’ll also have a limited selection of seed potatoes for people to just buy on the day itself, so if you missed out on sending in your pre-order you can still pick up some cheap seed potatoes for your patio, garden or plot.
Ahead of Potato Day, on Saturday 17th January, we’re going to make some aprons with the TL logo for people on the stall to wear on the day. They will help keep our clothes clean (seen as seed potatoes can be rather dirty) and will help people locate us and know who we are. There are also plans to make some bunting. The aprons will then be something we can use at other events.
If you want to learn how to make aprons come along and get taught by Janet and Sue. You’ll be making a TL apron, so you won’t get to keep it, but you could then go home and use your new skills to make another one for yourself.
If you don’t want to learn how to make aprons come anyway and stamp paper bags with our logo ready to put peoples’ seed potato in. We can have a good natter about all things Transition whilst we’re stamping!
The apron making/bag stamping workshop is on 17th January from 2pm at Roseberry St Peters Centre, Storer Road, Loughborough. All are welcome to come along and join in!
