Three of the Ttansition Loughborough sub-groups are meeting in the next week or so:
On Tuesday 1st July the Energy Group will be meeting from 7.30pm at the Roseberry St Peters Community Centre on Storer Road. We’ll be focusing on planning for the draughtproofing workshops that we’re planning to run later in the summer as a follow on from the Loughborough Energy Efficient Homes open house scheme back in May. We’ll also be discussing how to organise the youth mentoring scheme that Caroline has been working with.
On Thursday 3rd July from 7pm at the Landscaping and Gardening Society shed at the rear of car park 5 on the University campus, the Food &. Gardens group will be holding its regular monthly meeting. The growing season is in full swing so there’ll be plenty to talk about – we’ve got the TL community allotment, the In Bloom competition and lots of other community growing initiatives in the town.
Then next week the Transport group will be meeting on Wed 9th July, again at Sue’s house (contact us for details if you’ve not been before). Sue has been providing information to Charnwood Borough Council as part of their car parking strategy, we’re working on a leaflet on sustainable transport organisations and shops, and we’re looking at how to provide practical support for sustainable transport in the town.
