Energy and Food & Gardens Meetings this week

This weeks sees the start of April and the beginning of the month also brings with it two Transition Loughborough group meetings.

The first is the Energy Group meeting on Tuesday 1st April from 7pm-9pm in the Swan in the Rushes pub in Loughborough. We’ll be reviewing the “to do list” for organizing the Loughborough Energy Efficient Homes event that is taking place on the weekend of 17th & 18th May.  Several of the Energy Group attended a training session in Chesterfield last Saturday so we’ve got checklists of things we need to make sure are arranged.  If you’re interested in showing people energy efficiency measures that you’ve had installed in your home, or if you’re interested in helping organise and support the event then please come along and help shape how the event will run.

The second meeting is on Thursday 3rd April in the Coffee Lounge, St Peter’s Community Centre, Storer Road, Loughborough from 7pm-9pm where the Food & Gardens group will be meeting up. Currently we have two items on the agenda:

1. Planning for The Exotic Plant Workshop in May;

2. Invitation to Peter La Marchant Trust to discuss how our organisations can best work together.

We’ll probably also be talking about what needs doing on the Community Allotment during April – the fruit cage needs finishing off, the raised beds filled and of course we’ll be starting sow and plant veggies and flowers.  Come along if you’re interested in sowing, growing and eating in Loughborough.
