Upcoming meetings

Happy New Year Transitioners!

Well 2014 is now with us and we’ve already got a couple of meetings lined up for you in January!

The first one is the Food & Gardens group meeting on Thursday 9th January from 7pm in the Delice Deli on Baxter Gate in Loughborough.  The purpose of the meeting is to agree the aims and objectives for the group for the coming year, as well as confirm that we want to take part in the extended Fruit Routes project that will take fruit tree plantings out from the University campus and into the town.  We’ll also try to plan the group’s meetings for the whole year ahead so that everyone knows when and where we’ll be, as some folk missed the occasional meeting last year when we tried holding them in different locations.  As a thank you to the Delice Deli owners allowing us to have the space for the evening meeting we are requesting that everyone buys a drink or small snack when they get there (much as we did when we met in the pub last year).

Also at the Delice Deli we’ll be holding our Annual General Meeting on 23rd January from 7pm.  Sharon and Laurent, the Delice Deli owners, will be providing light sandwich snacks at £3.95 per head bookable in advance, plus you can buy drinks from them on the night.  We’ll be looking briefly at what has been achieved by Transition Loughborough so far and then looking at how we can move forward in various ways by asking the people of Loughborough who attend what they’d like to see tackled (and how they can help!).

All are welcome to attend either or both of these meetings – you don’t need to have been before nor been active with any of our projects to date.  We want Transition Loughborough to be driven by as many people in the town as possible, so please do get involved if you can!
